This will be my last week working for the animal hospital. Starting January 5th, I’ll be working at Jefferson (people!) Hospital, as a Multimedia Specialist. I’m sad to leave, but also very excited about the new position. They already have work piled up for me there!
Since this will be full-time, it will certainly cut down on my freelancing. I’ll still be doing some photography, but the design work will be very limited, since I’ll be pretty busy.
Keep an eye out at http://mooreclick.wordpress.com for photo updates!

Yesterday, I got to go and shoot an event at the Harvard Princeton Yale Club in Pittsburgh. I’ve probably walked past the building a hundred times, and never noticed that it was there. The Neghborhood Legal Services Association was having an event there to kick off their Equal Justice campaign. They focus on making sure those who need legal services can get them, even if they aren’t able to afford them on their own. It’s a good cause that has done a lot of great work for the Pittsburgh area, so it’s always fun to be involved in that sort of thing.

The website has had a much needed redesign, and is open to the public once more. We’ve had the same website design since 2005, and it was in dire need of an update. In addition to the aesthetics, we’ve edited the content and done some work on the navigation. Enjoy!

While at Chatham, I did a short documentary on women’s hockey called “Piranha”. The Pittsburgh Piranhas are an amateur women’s ice hockey team (www.pittsburghpiranhas.com), and they allowed me to interview the team, and tag along to a tournament in Ohio. While I was there, I was able to meet the founder of the team, who had since moved to Dayton. Everyone was super cooperative and it was a great experience overall. Recently, a representative from HDFest (www.hdfest.com) approached me about featuring the video in their documentary showcase. Just click on “watch documentaries” in the sidebar to check it out!

I’ve decided to pick up some more web skills, and enrolled in a CSS and XHTML class. I’ve learned what I can from various websites, but I think an actual structured class is probably the best way to go about this. At the moment, I can either make a website in Flash, or using tables in Dreamweaver (which was apparently outdated even before I learned to do it that way in college). I’ve also started learning SQL and Access, and have made some mostly unnecessary databases. I’ve always loved Excel more than a person probably should, so I’ve gone a bit nuts with this new way to organize data. No one needs their grocery list as a database.
